eBay in $925m disposal as PayPal spin-off nears<\/strong>: BBC News<\/a> reports that eBay has sold its Enterprise arm for $925m (\u00a3593m) as it prepares to part ways with PayPal. Enterprise, which manages websites for retailers, has been bought by a group of private equity firms led by Permira and Sterling Partners. eBay’s net income for quarter two\u00a0 was $83m, excluding a $786m charge for the Enterprise sale. What Prime Day means for Amazon and other ecommerce brands<\/strong>: Sam Edwards<\/a> at Entrepreneur<\/a> reports that whilst Prime Day could offer customers some pretty generous deals, he hints that Amazon\u2019s goals run much deeper than rewarding shoppers with hefty discounts. eBay to report second-quarter earnings<\/strong>: Pamela Newenham<\/a> at The Irish Times<\/a> reports that online auction site eBay is expected to report second-quarter earnings this week. Analysts expect the ecommerce giant to report earnings per share of $0.58 for the quarter. The company posted earnings per share of $0.77 in April for the first quarter. The age of Amazon, Jeff Bezos and his multi billion success:<\/strong> Adrian Lee at The Express<\/a> reports on Jeff Bezos, the man behind turning Amazon into one of the biggest ecommerce companies in the world. A former employee described Jeff as \u201cquirky, brilliant and demanding”, at the age of 51 Jeff said recently that he \u201cstill dances into the office” each day.
