Amazon shortlists 20 cities for<\/strong> second headquarters:<\/strong> The Guardian<\/a> reports that Amazon has released a shortlist of 20 cities on Thursday which it is considering for its second headquarters, including established technology hubs like Boston and Pittsburgh as well as more surprising choices such as Columbus, Ohio. The tech company has whittled down its shortlist that involved 238 communities across the US, Canada and Mexico. Only one city outside the US, Toronto, has made the cut. Amazon is still in early innings of its retail growth opportunity:<\/strong> Tae Kim at CNBC<\/a> reports that Piper Jaffray has predicted Amazon will generate strong sales growth this year. Piper Jaffray’s survey of 1,000 US internet users revealed that 50% of people allocated 10% or less of their holiday spending to Amazon.
